So far, the worst Jarmusch's film I've seen.

Though the cast is unbelievably cool, the core message is too blunt. It has some playing with postmodernism and cliche but nevertheless the whole responsibility and sustainability issue is lost because of grumbling.

...considering this, another film, “The Death and Life of John F. Donovan” also exploits a bunch of clichés but makes it brilliant. It’s as if you are watching a film from 2000s, even music reminds it, including hits like “bittersweet symphony”. Last Dolan’s film is smart and plays with notions of sincerity and fake; loyalty vs love, especially, again, in family. Worth watching.

Maybe you heard about an upcoming film by Safdie brothers "Uncut Gems", starring Adam Sandler. Rumours say that this time he may even take Oscar.

I watched another film by Safdie brothers, Good Time (2017), which was even showed at Cannes, starring Robert Pattinson. Movie is about 2 brothers: one with mental conditions, other (Pattinson) trying to help them both in his own way, making quick and presumptuous decisions. It is an abrupt, broken film, highly energetized by electronic music, creating atmosphere of heist, that actually takes place. Film is mostly straightforward, showing Pattinson hero’s decisions of emerging problems after failed bank robbery. Film gives ambiguous moral message, which is interesting. All Pattinson character's actions can be understood, taking into account the way he thinks and manipulates everybody, and in the same time his fate looks predetermined as Pattinson character is someone who thinks that he’s smart enough, but audience can see he is not. Society in film is hostile and unhuman or naive and shallow. So, watching this film is indeed an interesting exercise, it's hard to judge anyone in the story.
